JOURNALING ON TONED PAPER - A BEGINNER'S CLASS

Working on toned paper with colored pencils and other media, Mattias will teach you how to take advantage of the toned paper color to add some diversity to your journal. Mattias will cover the basics of value (shading) with toned paper, and then progress to working from a live subject or photograph of your choosing.

SUPPLIES: Toned paper or toned-paper journal (Strathmore makes a toned tan journal; there are also grey journals from Artenza and others); colored pencils, 12-24 set (John Muir Laws recommends Polychromos Artists’ Color Pencils and sells a set on his website JohnMuirLaws.com ); pencil; black pen; Sakura white gelly roll pen; white gouache and brush. If you want to invest in additional gouache colors, a good mini setof 24 colors by Royal & Langnickel is available on Amazon for less than $20.Journal and pen for taking notes.
