Join naturalist and author Roseann Hanson on a virtual field trip to northern Chile’s Atacama Desert—using a combination of her own video and images plus Google Earth, she’ll take you on an exploration of this extreme environment to find vicuñas, hot springs, and live volcanos high in the Andes. She’ll walk you through metadata, page layout, and using a variety of unique “views” to capture a landscape during a field trip—including zoom-out, zoom-in, and “3-D cube” cutaways (John Muir Laws style).

SUPPLIES: Journal, pen, colors and brush if you have them.

For the handout from THIS class, more details on Roseann’s field kit, and other materials on minimalist painting approach please visit her website: https://www.exploringoverland.com/constantapprentice/2020/10/5/wild-wonder-nature-journaling-conference

She will also posted pages from her journal here on Sched (see clickable documents below) as well as in the blog post (see link above).

Additionally, there was a panel “What’s in Your Field Kit?” Friday. She, John Muir Laws, Fiona Gillogly and Kate Rutter have their lists in Sched.
