I've been on two diving expeditions to Antarctica, once as a scientist and the other as an artist. I take my field sketching supplies underwater to observe and capture fishes and invertebrates on water proof paper. I'm currently on a quest to dive and draw in all seven seas . I love being connected and connecting others with the beauty and wonder of our Oceans. I believe everyone can reconnect with their inner artist and awaken their inner scientist thru drawing and observing. They are the ideal paths that lead to creative and curious discoveries.

I'm a marine biologist, sci-artist, designer and children's book author-illustrator. Ann Caudle and Jenny Keller (When the SciComm Program was still at UCSC) were my amazing mentors and helped me shift my career into SciArt. I worked at Monterey Bay Aquarium for 10 years and consider Monterey Bay my home. I was born and raised in Missouri, which is where I decided I wanted to grow up to be a marine biologist (we have marine fossils! lol). I keep moving around the world to different amazing places (Germany, Hawaii, Washington State) with my husband, who is employed by our government.
