“J.P.” Panter is a professional artist with a BFA in Painting with special emphasis on watercolor from Western Michigan University, and partial MFA in Illustration from acclaimed Academy of Art University in San Francisco. (Partial: attended, not completed.) She has had a business license in Napa California since 2005, is a member of local and nationally recognized calligraphy guilds, and is a past member of the California Watercolor Association and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. Her creative interests are bohemian and far ranging and include paleography (antiquarian manuscripts), photography, cartography, engraving, and calligraphy. In early spring of 2020, she completed the U.C. Davis California Naturalist Program through the Sonoma Ecology Center. In her illustration work, she is especially interested in bringing attention to marine life of the Pacific Ocean. As a lifelong artist, she is eager to share her passion for the arts. J.P. teaches calligraphy and drawing techniques both to children and adults.
